not Nothing but rarely anything

Confusing title - gives you a hint of my state of mind. We are doing things every day - both of us - just nothing seems particularly blog worthy or something I really want to "share". Less than stellar results at last pulmonology check up with DH - so more testing to determine which other organs seem to be malfunctioning.

Breathing has been much harder for him so we haven't finished the renovation project which should never have been started! Started major bathroom and bedroom renovation almost 2 years ago now - before we knew how serious his condition would become. In the latter stages of renovating - with change in medication we might be able to complete very soon.
We've been sleeping in the living room this summer - nice except for moonlight and lightning storms - we don't have window coverings on our big windows! It is all laughable (right after the ibuprofren takes effect and a good nap) - but as I say - not anything spectacular or inspiring. We are living our life here on Buhlaland - remembering to express gratitude for this beautiful place - however long we are able to stay here it has been the best home I've ever had.

As I said - it isn't nothing we're doing here - it just isn't anything y'all really want to hear about. No recipes (not cooking much at all), no new babies, no garden, no parties, no kidding! With all that nothing - it is amazing we have everything isn't it? talk to you another day when I'm perkier - please go back and read my blog post about childhood cancer if you haven't - it is worthy of reading unlike this ramble.

Not "nothing", but really a lot.LindaSue, your sleeping arrangement sounds very sweet and romantic to me. Moonlight and lightening storms, I love to sleep with my husband and have such blessings stream through our window. Your descriptive words reminded me of some very sweet times my husband and I had in our old home seeing long and exciting lightening storms thru our bedroom window, while our 3 children slept peacefully in their rooms.

You and your beloved husband sleeping in the living room together amidst such storms and moonlight, precious.

I know what you're going through...serious illness stops time somehow ...when you've been married as long as we all have...your spouses illness becomes yours too...God is with you, hang in there and I know you take each day as it comes...your sleeping in the living room is wonderful...

Mercy, how well I can relate. You and yours are on the prayer list; these are trying times indeed.
Dave sleeps in another room because of his needs and the dogs and I sleep together. Mainly the dogs use me for a body pillow and I accommodate them. I'm useful thataway. Yes, I am.

Linda Sue, nothing you write is nothing.

It sounds like you and your husband work as a team, as one, and that is priceless. There you are, in the middle of your lives, sleeping in the living room, yet, you find a bit of humor and life goes on.

You focus on the most important things in life, and the rest is side-lined. I can see that.

God bless you, you are both in my prayers.

Like Kathy, I think you have a wonderful attitude. I'm glad you are surrounded by loveliness and that you cherish your home so. It's the small things that mean so much..like sharing moonlight and lightening with one another in your cozy home.
Sending you a hug from Georgia.

Linda,
I understand the 'nothingness' of illness. It consumes you. And you feel like you got nothing, but in actuality, you have everything, like you expressed. I learned to see in a different perspective, from a different perspective, and those things aren't trivial. They're deep. So, please share some of those deep things. Writing is catharctic. Praying for you.

Your in our prayers. I can relate to the thunderstorms we have had a lot this summer and even into the fall now. Life can be very difficult and challenging when caring for a loved one. We took care of my husbands parents Your post was reflective of how nothing can really be something. Thank you for sharing.

Hard to know how to respond - y'all are so supportive and I don't like to air our troubles - everyone has some. Scripture states "For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all." We don't know what glory comes with staying up half the night coughing - just know the Lord gives Skip the endurance to get up the next day and live life as best we can.
I think my description of the storms and moonlight were more romantic than the reality - Skip has trouble sleeping and the bright light really adds to the situation - but it is often pretty - last night he said it looked like winter with snow on the ground the moonlight was so bright. Bless y'all - and thank you for your blessing of us.
