More mostly pictures

Sunshine and leafed out oak trees - definitely spring warm weather and pleasant changes around the countryside.

Lanny (Lantana) is showing her general disapproval of all the attention being given to newborn twins - she is a twin and believes she and Fanny (Fantana) are much cuter than those little brown things.

The doeling alongside her mother, has been named Amber - her brother is Jasper - both gemstones found in Texas and often shades of brown.

Each day we have to go out and find the babies - Pearl isn't being a very good mother this year and leaves them out in a pasture. They are so small almost anything could take them - a few turkey vultures check out our place every day.

One picture to show how small Amber is compared even to Jasper - she is about half his weight. Will start supplemental feedings for them soon - right now they are only interested in the all you can suckle milk bar their mom offers.
New life, warm days and night - life is good on Buhlaland.

Blue skies,music and new life

Extraordinary weather this spring - storms moving through quickly but most days breezy and beautiful.

Because we don't go to church (as in a building on Sundays) to worship (compromised immune system issues) - we worship together and have found special joy in listening to music and singing along. Because He Lives is an older song - definitely not contemporary worship - but the message was special for us today.

Joy of new life - all other goats had given birth the last of January to first part of February. We weren't sure Pearl was actually pregnant - but she presented us with twins this week. Smallest kid we've had which is absolutely healthy - and already with an attitude! Life is growing on Buhlaland and we know it is all Because He Lives. It is very good .

unexpected beauty

Our neighbor has a planter made from a homemade wheelbarrow which doesn't wheel anymore.

How amazing are those flowers? Had to share - hard for some people to believe cactus are such bright beauties - for at least a short time in the spring. Isn't it great - even the prickliest, least cuddly of creations are given a time to be beautiful? - to make us stop and say - WOW. Hope you have some WOW moments this week. We are doing well on Buhlaland - medical treatments continue for DH and some side effects but so far - it is GOOD on Buhlaland.

Everybody needs beauty as well as bread, places to play in and pray in, where nature may heal and give strength to body and soul.

Texas Wildflowers

Luke 12: 22-33
And He said to His disciples, "For this reason I say to you, do not worry about your life, as to what you will eat; nor for your body, as to what you will put on. "For life is more than food, and the body more than clothing.
"Consider the ravens, for they neither sow nor reap; they have no storeroom nor barn, and yet God feeds them; how much more valuable you are than the birds!
"And which of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life's span?
"If then you cannot do even a very little thing, why do you worry about other matters?
"Consider the lilies, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin; but I tell you, not even Solomon in all his glory clothed himself like one of these.
"But if God so clothes the grass in the field, which is alive today and tomorrow is thrown into the furnace, how much more will He clothe you? You men of little faith!
And do not seek what you will eat and what you will drink, and do not keep worrying.
"For all these things the nations of the world eagerly seek; but your Father knows that you need these things.
"But seek His kingdom, and these things will be added to you.
"Do not be afraid, little flock, for your Father has chosen gladly to give you the kingdom.
"Sell your possessions and give to charity; make yourselves money belts which do not wear out, an unfailing treasure in heaven, where no thief comes near nor moth destroys.
"For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. "

From a distance - most wildflowers are pretty but until you look closely - you could miss delicate perfection.

State flower of Texas - the bluebonnet - often seen with Texas Paintbrush. Individually the flowers are beauty but combined alongside a country road - a colorful spring palette.
Why worry - on Buhlaland we have a few wildflowers and God's loving care - it is good.

Blogger's Block

When I have nothing to say - but feel the need to connect with the blogosphere I cheat and put up lots of pictures. It is definitely spring here in North Texas - the Class of 2010 kids are all about 3 months old and feisty. Susannah is our smallest doeling - but this morning she decided to mix it up with Lulu. Lulu isn't known for her sweet nature and put up enough fight to last for several minutes - enough for Senor Amigo (our caramel colored wether) to decide he wasn't interested in a girl fight anymore.

Our oak trees have all leafed out and apparently taste great - here are Crybaby and Flip (Crybaby has black face and ears) doing their jobs of trimming up trees for us.

Not good focus in this photo but had to show how excited the class of 2010 gets when out feasting, this is Milky Way dancing across the front pasture area.

Learned our goatzees all love oak pollen tassles which are piled up all over the place - this year's pollen is one of those records nobody really wanted to set - eyes and nose itch continually.

Early in the mornings I've been letting the goats out in front area - driveway and around front of our house - they do an excellent job of weed control and seem to be eager to get to work.

Bluebonnets - state flower of Texas and always a big deal when they bloom - picture was taken as we drove along interstate highway 30 coming home from clinic in Fort Worth - purdy aren't they?
So this is a blog post - things are well on Buhlaland just mind isn't working in the writing gear. Trust you are blessed today with the sight of spring flowers, happy healthy young critters (whether two or four legged) and the knowledge the Lord God made us all.

Easter Bunny? Doggy Express - no Bloggy Express!

Conan barked and got Zoe barking too - the mailman pulled up in our driveway which is something he'd never do.
We walked up from the barn and what surprises await - a big box from East Texas - delivery is great.
We open each part of our package so dear rejoicing at beauty and thoughtfulness here.

Vickie is the artist who blessed us
with her art, thoughtfulness and her blog's good cheer. If you like cottagey, Texan, good humor (and lots of dear gophers!) please go visit Vickie over at Sand Flat Farm and enjoy her blogging and eye for beauty. Conan the Destroyer was carefully watching us open the big box.

A decorated tote bag - perfect for cheering up our errands and doctor's office visits! I can take our books, my camera and still have plenty of room for the iPod and snacks!

Ah - wonderful scent from a sachet packet and a crocheted doily that will be perfect under my great aunt's milk glass bowl!

The Pièce de résistance - an original Vickie painting of west Texas.

Cute cards and even an old sweet postcard - such fun!
