GBN - Goat Baby Network

All goats all the time - or at least that is how it seems when we download the camera! Appears possible we are already done with birthing season. Sweet little goofy face in my hand is the To Remain Unnamed little male born to Castena - goofy little guy was trying to find something to nibble on the tree trunk.

First born were the twins Lantana and Fantana - or Lanny and Fanny - inseparable and irrepressible!

Next - the fabulous face of Susannah - doeling of Montana. Susannah is a little shy and her mama isn't the most attentive but she has buddies with the other kids.

Easily described as the favorite this year - Milky Way is the doeling of Norman and is the official greeter of the Class of 2010. New kids and any person or critter walking into her vicinity warrants a good nibble and snuggle.

Lulu is deceptively sweet in this picture - she is a real pistol - very active and not sure she wants to mess with people. Lulu is the daughter of Lucky.

Last kid born was Caramel - doeling of Flip. Flip is the alpha female in our little herd. Caramel is very sweet and active. Her older sibling - Butterscotch from the Class of 2009 isn't sure she is fond of Carrie yet but Carrie keeps on trying.

Very long poem I'm adding but it is lovely and I could not find a youtube video of the hymn- which was attractive(as in where did they find so many screechy sopranos???) I deleted repeats of the refrain - refrain was the first four lines which were also used in the title of the famous James Herriott stories of a country veterinarian.

All Things Bright and Beautiful...

Author: Cecil F. Alexander, Hymns for Little Children, 1848

All things bright and beautiful,
All creatures great and small,
All things wise and wonderful:
The Lord God made them all.

Each little flower that opens,
Each little bird that sings,
He made their glowing colors,
He made their tiny wings.

The rich man in his castle,
The poor man at his gate,
He made them, high or lowly,
And ordered their estate.

The purple headed mountains,
The river running by,
The sunset and the morning
That brightens up the sky.

The cold wind in the winter,
The pleasant summer sun,
The ripe fruits in the garden,
He made them every one.

The tall trees in the greenwood,
The meadows where we play,
The rushes by the water,
To gather every day.

He gave us eyes to see them,
And lips that we might tell
How great is God Almighty,
Who has made all things well.

Amen and on Buhlaland is it very good to have all types of creatures - right now reveling in the caprine babies!

One of my very favorite hymns.

Mine too Susan - I just realize I could have edited the chorus out of the lyric and just present it once to shorten this post. I think I'll do that - it looks so long and daunting if you aren't familiar with the hymn!

Your goats are beautiful and I do love goats!
The hymn is one of my favorites and always brings calm and peace whenever I hear it.

Milky Way appears to have a little sweet smile on her face. Oh the little kids are so cute and irresistible Linda Sue, and the hymn says it all!

Beautiful hymn!

There is little like a young kid goat's face. And how about those long ears?

My kidding season is just flaring up. I was hoping for March. This year was a surprise, thank you Mr. Buck! None the less, praise the Lord. The kids are ours, they are loved, and we will make it through this weather!

Hi, what wonderful babies. You've finished and we haven't even started yet. Do you disbud? We are thinking about leaving the horns as God created them. We have 4 out of 7 goats with horns. I like them. The goats are respectful but do butt each other. I need to take a poll. Happy Nursery!

I love that hymn one of my favorites to let roll around in my head all day.

Oh my, oh my, Lanny and Fanny! What is their pedigree, are they all or mostly dairy? Bet has been wanting to get back into dairy goats and those would be a perfect pair to start back with! And Lu Lu, to to, she would have to come along just to keep us all in line. Oh you temptress, you!

Have a great day today, we are a little frosty up here, working like mad women trying to hit our deadline, not sure with what we will hit it, something, we'll hit it with something I am sure.
