Specifically snow is good as a backdrop for our Milky Way doeling - she has interesting markings and the white surrounding made her even prettier.
Will soon be no snow - which is a good thing here on Buhlaland - the cardinals let us know they were seeking warmth to begin setting up springtime households!
Happy Generic Holiday - I'm old enough to remember Washington's Birthday and Lincoln's Birthday - well I wasn't at their actual birthday parties or anything. I recall a time before the two dates were lumped together to make "a three day weekend for President's Day sales". Nothing a man who gave his adult life in service to his country wants more than to have his legacy honored with a huge mattress sale or intimate wear extravaganza. Enough - it is good on Buhlaland we aren't going to buy anything today - we have been given riches we are unable to weigh by the world's standards.

You said it Linda. Have a nice day!

Awwww... Miss Milky Way has some beautiful markings!
I agree... I hope nobody has a mattress sale in my honor after I'm gone, but I guess it wouldn't matter- I'd never know about it. Poor George and Abe have no idea, do they? *LOL*
I love the thought of riches that cannot be weighed by the world's standards... I think I'll carry that with me today.
Thank you Linda Sue for your wonderful words!
Milky Way is pretty, save the pictures for Christmas greetings next year, you have had enough snow and lovely snow pictures to fill a box of very varied homemade Christmas greeting cards, a winter to remember for sure.
Ha ha, President's Day ( weekend ) summed up quite well LindaSue!
I remember getting two days off intead of the long weekend like you said...I didn't buy anything either....every time we have a so called holiday weekend there is another so called sale. Why not just lower the prices everyday...I love your pictures
Phil Dirt read that it was the ski resort lobby looking for another three day weekend that actually got that puppy passed. Either way, all in the name of a buck eh?
I don't know when they changed it, but I remember seeing both birthdays on the calendar when I was a kid...then they were gone. I thought I'd dreamed it!
What I thought as strange was that my husband got MLK Day off, but not President's Day.
