I haven't Croaked!

Terrence the Toad reminded me I haven't checked in on the bloggy world in over a week.
Buhlaland is literally crawling with toads - from smaller than a dime to critters the size of a hardball -all intent on finding moisture and bugs. Bugs we have in abundance but this summer moisture comes out of a hose or sprinkler. Don't want to rant about weather -we've been in a warmish spell (nighttime lows in the high 70's) and today saw 102 on our deeply shaded porch thermometer.
Weather and toads don't have a thing to do with why I'm not blogging. DH hasn't been well (we think he is slowly improving - not terminal just tiring) , I'm stressing about finding a job and generally ignoring the biblical admonition "Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God." Phil. 4:6 NIV
We have always had more than abundant provision. We are daily reminded of God's faithfulness in our walk with Him. My head and most of my heart knows things will work out better than I could have imagined -- my stomach and bit of my often rebellious heart keep bringing up "what if it doesn't happen this time?" BUT - we rely on God's grace He is more than enough.
If I had a picture of a nice frog - then I could use the acronym Fully Rely On God and be all clever. So you have to accept my word for it - FROG works.
The sweet doe (I suppose she is sweet - she hangs around here and has beautiful eyes - for all we really know - she might be the head of the Mean Girls in her herd!) still hangs around our place. Saw her and her fawn a week or more ago - trotting along in our front pasture and then leaping over a 5 foot tall fence as if it were nothing.
So little real news, the toads and I decided to check in with the blog world. It is hot, quiet and healing on Buhlaland and that is good. Ribbit--ribbit

Ribbit, ribbit to you too. I am sorry to hear your DH is not feeling too well, and that you are concerned about employment. It is so easy for us to say God is in control , but for me. living that realization out always shows me how little my faith is. Even though I can look back on a half century of life and see HE is!And He has answered many prayers in a most marvelous way.

Will be praying for you there in Buhl-a-land.

P.S. I am encouraged by your FROG attitude, and I forgot to say so....bless you both, and the toads and frogs too!Glad to see you haven't croaked.

Oh Dani - the mortgage thing is a hard one. Only smart thing we did (thank you Lord) when we built this place and then sold off 20 acres of it - we paid off house, vehicles and all. Still have insurance, taxes and normal expenses but at least no mortgage. Thank you for your support - we will pray for you also. KathyB - what can I say - I love the idea of being content and peaceful - just have trouble with the implementation! aargh - again I thank you for your faithful prayers also - am praying for your family --

Hey Miss Linda Sue- I'm glad you haven't "croaked"! I guess everybody thinks I have, too.... too much to do and not enough hours in the day! (Not enough COOL hours, either! LOL)
Sorry about your DH- I'll be praying he feels much better soon... and that everything WILL work out better than you ever imagined!

Hi Linda - Sorry to hear your hubby is under the weather and you're in a tizzy over a job. I hear your frustration and anxiety. You know where to go with your burdens, but it's still hard when we can't see down the road. I'm keeping you in prayer as well as your husband for healing, peace, and provision.

FROG is good. That reminded me, yesterday when I was watering a big ole geranium on my front porch, as soon as the water hit the plant, a HUGE frog jumped out of it in MY direction and liketa have scared me to death!!!

Wish I could send you some of my cucumbers. I've had them running out of my ears - my corn didn't make (not enough sun), I'm now getting some good tomatoes, green beans, I got the purple hull peas out too late after the doves & crows pulled up all the first planting. I've put up 18 quarts of pickles and still have so many in my fridge that there's NO room for anything else!!! I'm giving them away to everyone that'll take em.

Don't croak - just ribbit a little!

Lindasue...your words brought comfort to me today. I am a worrier, and I too often try to control things when all the time God is telling me....Let Me! We have been getting so much rain that it is raining these little frogs everywhere.....just a reminder, thanks to you now, that God is talking to me, telling me to rely on Him. I have to turn away from the news so often because it contributes to my insecurity about things. I hope your husband soon starts feeling better. There is a doe that runs around free in the little town where I go get our mail. Her name is Abby and everyone in the town knows about her. She wears a green reflective collar around her neck. The one who rescued her when she was a fawn, allows her to roam around this tiny town. The first time I ever knew about her was when I pulled up to the post office and she walked up to me and allowed me to pet her. The postmaster then explained the story about her. I did not have my camera with me! Hope you have a wonderful restful holiday! blessings,Kathleen
