How do I pronounce clematis?

The correct pronunciation is CLEM-uh-tis.

Of course I live in Texas and have always called these prolific blooming vines clem-AT-is. Pronounciation might be like tomato or toe-mah-toh, depends on your upbringing. No matter how you pronounce the flower's name, they are lovely, easy to grow and this time of the year a blast of color in our garden. Loving my CLEM-uh-tis (or purple blooming viney thangs) here on Buhlaland.

Matthew 6:28-30 (New Living Translation)
28 “And why worry about your clothing? Look at the lilies of the field and how they grow. They don’t work or make their clothing, 29 yet Solomon in all his glory was not dressed as beautifully as they are. 30 And if God cares so wonderfully for wildflowers that are here today and thrown into the fire tomorrow, he will certainly care for you. Why do you have so little faith?

In these difficult times, with so much pulling at us from the world,if you find yourself a little short of faith - look skyward early in the mornings and see the beauty freely given for all to enjoy. Feeling grateful and a tad cornball around Buhlaland!

Linda Sue, I have been busy the last few days and missed your blog. Too bad for me ! I love the previous blog post and this one ! Amen on ALL you said and this post puts things in perspective.....I too do not want to have a political blog, and yet, sometimes just hurt so much by what I consider serious moral and ethical issues some candidate or other holds that is of no concern to the very people who should be concerned...and you get my drift. I throw up my hands and give it to God who is in control and ultimately all of us will give account. ( referring to your previous post )Thank-you Linda Sue, happy days tiling at Buhl-a-land !

Texas is more of a desert compared to lots of places but I am still surprised and gladdened by the amount of blossoms there are: cactus, yucca, all those weeds called 'wildflowers' - there's always something colorful growing. It's a good remindeder to be thankful for it all.
