Oddities and I'm not talking family pictures

At times here on Buhlaland - strange things appear. Apparently these fruits of galls are an incubator/hatchery for a wasp of some kind. I am curious about the whats and whys - my fanciful name for this oddity was Oak Tree Limes. They are about the size of a lime and certainly a lime color. When you pull one open it is filled with strange tissue. I didn't find a larva supposedly inside each one (and I didn't mind not finding a wormy thing - trust me - it is not my goal in life to find more yucky stuff) but I'll take the word of various internet experts. Just thought y'all might need something weird in your life today - if not - chalk this up to my having a computer and a camera and a little too much time this week.

Psalm 146:5-6 (New International Version)
5 Blessed is he whose help is the God of Jacob, whose hope is in the LORD his God,
6 the Maker of heaven and earth, the sea, and everything in them— the LORD, who remains faithful forever.

We might find or even do odd things here on Buhlaland but being one of those whose help is the God of Jacob - it is GOOD.

Anna is crabby 'cause I've got the computer and get to comment first! Bizarre is all I have to say! I think we should have a day to find and post weird stuff, clearly-aliens-have-been-here stuff.

At least I get to be the second to comment, that little green thing does look like a lime. That is what I thought it was. Fun and interesting.

I seem to recall looking up gall a long time ago when I was home schooling my kids and it was relevant. There is a LOT of interesting stuff published about gall and quite a bit of it is symbolic spiritually!

Anyway, it is a good thing to be able to take time to observe your world and think about it...and then share it with us!

That is weird looking. I have never seen that.

Thanks for sharing, no matter how weird.

thanks for sharing the weirdness! i love finding strange and wonderful and weird things God has created... i usually wonder "why?!" but then i look at us humans, and well... perhaps i shouldn't wonder "why?" about other seemingly strange things God has created! :)

Hi Ellie..I found a link to your blog in Danis blog and was pleased to read your posts....We are moving to S AL soon and I would like to have a few chickens to raise for some fresh eggs...My Dear Husband thinks they would be to much work and would be expensive and would have to build a special coop..is that true and do you know where I could find some info without having to google 500 web sites (LOL)
We have our 2 dogs and 3 kitties but I would like some more cats outside and maybe a few other critters that wouldn't be 2 distructive.
Love the green things...have you figured out what they are??? and can you eat them? :)
