We were wondering yesterday if THIS:

had anything to do with the vulture convention in our front yard?? We weren't feeling tip top yesterday but this is entirely premature vulture gathering! Just laughing and staying in the air conditioning here on Buhlaland - cold front coming later this week (dropping into the low to mid 90's - don't laugh it beats 100+ by more than just ten degrees)

Your cold front sounds about like ours! We stayed in all weekend but we did not have your vultures to keep us entertained. These are great pictures.

I know God has a reason for vultures...I know He does, but I will have to grow an appreciation for them...hehehe.

Happy Day to you,

I'd take low 90s over low 100s any day! Been there, done that, got the soaked t-shirt!

Your cold front sounds like our heat wave. I do remember most of my childhood being spent in states with temps like yours though, and my first few years here in WA I was always cold, even in the summer.

AC is the place to be though for you and Skip! But vultures? What was going on there? They are very interesting birds, and I find seeing them in the sky anywhere stops me "dead"!( but not long enough to be their meal)

That is some kind of cold front! I do not like the vultures. They hang around here, but mainly up in the sky. I always wonder exactly what they are waiting for!

Looks like they are anticipating a death. Hmmmmmm.... Hope they left. Yesterday was beautiful - low 90's, a light breeze. An excellent day!

I am spoiled by A. C. We are also going to have a bit of relief and yesterday was wonderful to be outside but by this weekend we will be back to high temps again and I just may have to find a good book. Vultures are interesting birds. My husband had a black bear somewhere on his postal route this past week maybe all these creatures are looking for a cool place or some water. Enjoy the cool temperatures!

The worst of our heat is, hopefully, behind us; we've been having coolish temps at night and early mornings. Just try and keep cool as the heat adds to life's, already generous, miseries -smile.

Buzzards. UGH. They are so hideously ugly and nasty lookin'. I had a vulture one time in the middle of a skinny blacktop road eating some roadkill. It would not move and I drove right up to it, honking my horn and it looked at me and went back to eating. I kept honking, got out of the car and walked over to just within a few feet from it. It looked at me with its evil nasty eyes, finished its bite, and slowly hopped to the side of the road so I could pass.

Buzzards - I guess they're a necessary evil...
