unexpected beauty

Our neighbor has a planter made from a homemade wheelbarrow which doesn't wheel anymore.

How amazing are those flowers? Had to share - hard for some people to believe cactus are such bright beauties - for at least a short time in the spring. Isn't it great - even the prickliest, least cuddly of creations are given a time to be beautiful? - to make us stop and say - WOW. Hope you have some WOW moments this week. We are doing well on Buhlaland - medical treatments continue for DH and some side effects but so far - it is GOOD on Buhlaland.

Everybody needs beauty as well as bread, places to play in and pray in, where nature may heal and give strength to body and soul.

Spring there must just be an amazing place! My grandpa gifted me a subscription to Arizona Highways when I was little. I was fascinated by the blooming desert. Someday eh? Glad all is good.

Beauty in dry barren places, God gives that doesn't He? The cactus plants sure make up for their prickly appearance with lush almost too bright colored flowers don't they?

The cactus has some of the most beautiful flowers I have seen ...I always wondered why. The plants themselves I cannot say the same thing about. Thanks for sharing some of your beauty.

Haven't the wildflowers just been so beautiful this year? I don't know if it's the great snow we had or what, but they've been gorgeous!
Even those cacti are pretty. I almost bought myself some hens n' chicks the other day at lowe's. I've always wanted some, just never treated myself. And that is SOME beautiful flower on that little cactus. Even the dessert is lush with color this year!

A good friend lived in West Texas for a while and sent back lovely spring pictures of the desert - rugged terrains with the most delicate flowers. Gorgeous. Like Vickie, I might pick up some succulents this spring, too. Thanks for the inspiration.

Spring is wonderful. I love the desert when the cacti blossum. Right up to the point when I back into a cactus taking pictures. Ouch.

I've always loved Cacti and I really like that orange one! I would love to have a cactus garden, I think we're too wet here in WA though.
