~Born to be wild~

Amigo - laying in the soft fresh hay next to his mama, Cassie. Isn't he the picture of innocence and sweetness? Don't be fooled - he was
born to be wild!

You'll be along for a day with our Bad Boy - Amigo. Only male born this year to our herd (and don't tell him but he isn't technically a male now - he is a wether).

Here Amigo heads out with the other goats - looking for adventure in whatever comes our way.

I'm a big bad boy and I can prove it.

"I like smoke and lightning
Heavy metal thunder
Racin' with the wind
And the feelin' that I'm under"
Yeah so I'm bugging Susannah and getting her to yell at me - I'm feeling it - feeling the BAD

"Like a true nature's child
We were born, born to be wild
We can climb so high "

"Take the world in a love embrace
Fire all of your guns at once
And explode into space "

Hey even Bad Boys need mama for a few things!

Silly here on Buhlaland - the goat kids are strong, healthy and each has a definite personality. The Lord created so many different creatures - all have their purpose and He gave us dominion over them. Sometimes we wonder on Buhlaland if we have given over the dominion part to our animals - but DH and I are the ones rationing out the feed and treats to our animals so perhaps things are just as they should be on Buhlaland and it is GOOD.
P.S. Anybody else feel a tad older when we realize the movie Easy Rider which featured the song by Steppenwolf "Born to be Wild" is 40 years old? whew - I am getting old, maturing or just about over ripe - depends on the day you ask?!

I remember when my girlfriends and I had a 45 of that song and just about played it to death at early teenage stage. It spoke to us! HAHA! Good post, Linda. Have a good week'

Oh this is GREAT! I love these pics of your little goat gamboling about and being his little goat self. He's having so much fun! They are so silly to watch!

I still love that song. Still makes me wanna put on tie-dye and braid my hair and get a tatoo and jump on the back of some biker's motorcycle and take off and just be wild and free!

Debbie and Vickie - don't you think the "younger generation" looks at us now and cannot imagine us in tie dye and braids - roaring around on the back of a motorcycle. Ah youth is kinda wasted on the young - but I doubt I'd be strong enough now to survive it!

Linda Sue - I've gotten much more conservative (or maybe careful is the right word) since I've gotten older. I guess we all do. I was born in the 50's, and when I turned 12,13 I was just a little too young, just on the tail-end of the "love generation", the born to be wild. My mama & daddy kept their thumbs on us kids pretty tight, so I didn't stray off the beaten path much at all. I had the long braids & wore some of the clothes, but that's about it.

Sometimes I think that people think artists are pretty weird & wild & free, so I guess I could STILL do that thing, couldn't I? Beads and long hair and grungy jeans and no make-up? Whadaya think?

Also, just wanted to say, I feel so humbled by your last comment. I've absolutely loved getting to know you and some others on this blog! I shared with my sister that I had a blog and how neat it is to meet and get to know you all. I'm hoping that she'll join in. she doesn't know what she's missing!!!
