Bubbles Messes with Moe

Birthing time due end of this month - we don't think the four little doelings are pregnant. The brown girl is called Bubbles - she is a daughter of Pearl - one of our original herd.

The large picture was taken as she began an adventure of getting close enough to sniff that black animal. Most of the kids grow up skittish about Moe, Mighty Barn Cat. He is quick moving and likes to drink from the goat trough (where we also have large goldfish who beckon to a cat ) .

Bubbles started off a little coy - nibbling on the tank - opposite side of trough and fence from Moe.

She moved on around and decided to get bold and actually sniff the black (fat!) cat. Moe tried to just ignore the pesky little goat. He was certain she didn't realize who she was messing with.

The pressure was too much for Moe the Mighty Hunter and he began a dignified exit - spoiled by that brown thing moving even closer!

Some days you are king of the pens and some days - you are a play toy for goats! We are amused by our animals and their antics - it is good on Buhlaland for people, goats and even disgruntled big old cats!

Me too Brandi - Moe is a one of a kind - came to us while we were building the house - lived in woodpile for almost a week before we broke down and decided he was part of the family. Best cat disposition and sweetness I've ever had.

What would we do without those barn cats? Moe is lovely.

Bubbles is AAAdorable! I love goats and used to have two called...drum roll, please...

Agatha and Esmeralda, the Fabulous Goatini Sisters!

There were a handful and managed to get into all kinds of mischief; I miss them dreadfully.

Kelly or Alex - thanks Moe does agree he is a handsome fella.
We talked briefly yesterday about trying to convert over to a small breed of beef (Dexters) but honestly - I'd hate to give up the sheer entertainment value of the goats!

I think I'd be pushing my luck if I asked my husband for goats... but I sure do like 'em! And cats, too, but I'm allergic. sigh...

Bubbles and Moe, still not friends? Just acquaintances? Great pictures of them LindaSue, I especially like the close up picture of Bubbles, she is pretty.

We have goldfish in our stock tank too, and they survived the tank freezing to less than an inch from the bottom ....now they just need to survive when the blue heron comes along to pick them off!In your case I hope Moe doesn't get your goldfish, but don't tell him I said that.

I love the header picture of your home with the snow and lights. Your home looks and sounds inviting.

None of the goats ever trust the cat - something about even a small predator makes goats nervous. Thanks for the kind words - I think they are both lovely animals. Vickie - too bad y'all don't have a pasture full of brush - nothing as effective at eating brush and briars as a goat!
