Busy week

If you look at my blog activity you'd think I was missing in action. I didn't go missing but we were in action a lot this week.

Strange how it can be - at this very moment - Friday night. It was just Monday morning a few hours ago wasn't it? What did we do in the 5 days since Monday?

We started building a chicken coop. DH pulled our truck in the backyard with load of building materials. First you see the new nifty JawHorse holding the first post for le coop deluxe. We are nearly done - today (Friday) DH dug the trench for wiring so the coop will have electricity. No - we aren't putting a tv and sound system in - just going to have a light inside.

Chicks are supposed to show up on the 26th - getting excited about the new critters for Buhlaland.

We also took several walks in the pastures - enjoying all the new growth since our nice rains last week. Fun seeing tiny oak leaves opening up.

Columbines are coming up - yep it is spring and busy here on Buhlaland. I plan to do some cooking this weekend and will post recipes if it turns out well. Maybe I'll post the recipe even if it is yucky as a warning huh? Working on my menu for Easter Sunday -not far off now.
Time is such a tricky concept - it seems we have so much of it - 24 hours,7 day weeks, 365 day years - a life time span of maybe 80 years?
2 Corinthians 4:16Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. 17For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. 18So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.

Didn't want you to think I was totally MIA - even though all this is temporary we still have to work at useful activities toward the time when time is no more.

Nice chicken coop...we'd like to have one too...we've been working, doing alot of weeding after all our rain, and watching the birds at the feeder. The vegetables are really growing too and we'd like to plant more before the summer hits us....
thanks for the good Word...we've had such a hard time this month with little work....

Hooray! You're getting chickens! You will be even more entertained now. Goats and chickens, lots and lots of drama and comedy, plus milk and eggs. What kind of chickens did you order?

Know what you mean about time. Every week I ask myself "how did Friday get here, it was just Monday?"

Dani - we are praying for you, hard to see good people struggle when they are doing things in the right way. I have read a lot about the "suburban chicken" movement - people keeping 2 or 3 hens in "chicken tractor/coops" so they can move them around on the yard and have fresh eggs. No roosters so usually neighbors don't care. SandFlat - your time is coming! DH didn't want chickens until just this year. KathyB - we ordered Golden Comets a sex linked brown egg layer - so we shouldn't have any roosters since they are white and the pullets are golden yellowy.

Wow, great coop! Can DH come build one in our yard next? Looking forward to seeing chick pics!

Pam - on my walking blog site the gals in Norway were trying to get me to lend DH for some projects - sorry his mileage fees are exorbitant! I'm trying not to push him too much right now for things I want done - he works very hard and we've been buying some new tools to help him - the Jaw Horse is way cool and just installing a new sliding miter saw in his tool bench. I promise chix pix as soon as they are here - reminds me - I need to dig up the reflector lamp thingie.

Wait, Linda Sue didn't Kathy tell you that chickens lay way better, nearly two eggs a day if they can watch flat screen HD TV with surround sound, lights off please and pass the popcorn.

Hurray for your chicken coop!

Reading that bit of Scripture a little closer just now. I think I get why, in spite of the fact that my body is getting older, I actually feel younger now that I did when I was a youth!

Yes Lanny - inward renewal makes us more childlike (not childISH) and that is what the Father told us we must be - like a child we come to Him. I'm really grateful this body will wear out - never has fit just right - far too big - inside this body is such a pretty athletic body - with singing skills - yeah that's it!
