Surprise Visitor

We were working in the shop two days ago with the big doors open . We noticed an unfamiliar color on the pegboard DH uses for tool storage. On closer inspection we found a luna moth. God created beauty even in the smallest things. We appreciated our beautiful visitor to Buhlaland. Someone already told me it was the kind of moth in a sleeping medication commercial - not exactly the image which came to mind but everyone sees what they are tuned to look for. I think we see what we seek- don't you?

Wow- it sure is a colorful little thing. I love to "find" surprises like that, too! It's like God is saying, "stop for a minute and see what my hands have made."

Hi Lindasue, what a beautiful creature! I have not seen one of those out here. We have really big black moths. How is the wind and dirt treating you? The wind has been so high out here and I think I have an acre of the farmers cotton field in my house! Have a good weekend, blessings, Kathleen

I'm from Northwest Ohio and I used to see Luna moths when I was a young girl (OOO about 35 years ago)
but now I don't see them around here anymore. You're lucky. This was always my favorite. Now that I look at how long ago it was They are probably endangered or extinct in our area now.

Luna months are so fascinating. We just love them around here and always hope to find at least one each year. If we don't find one in our backyard, I'll just come back and enjoy yours!

Blessings,
