Change - Not on list of Favorite Things

Throwing up a post on newly redesigned (completely unintentionally I assure you!) blog site. Dadgum -- only wanted to see what might be available - not switch up the whole thing - but once again - Blogger Bites! ::sighing:::
Whew - got that off my list of "rants I would like to make". Seem to have far too many lists of wants, whines, gripes, petty pickiness about situations,people and broken dishwashers! Picture is holiday decorating here on Buhlaland - yep - quite indecisive about decorating - hanging holly is totally out of the question. Whether to put up stockings which we won't fill or wreath (needs new fake birds) remains to be decided. Working on faking myself into it all - old saying "Fake It 'til ya make it" hasn't worked yet.

Lyrics are:

Haul out the holly;
Put up the tree before my spirit falls again.
Fill up the stocking,
I may be rushing things, but deck the halls again now.
For we need a little Christmas
Right this very minute,
Candles in the window,
Carols at the spinet.
Yes, we need a little Christmas
Right this very minute.
It hasn't snowed a single flurry,
But Santa, dear, we're in a hurry;
So climb down the chimney;
Put up the brightest string of lights I've ever seen.
Slice up the fruitcake;
It's time we hung some tinsel on that evergreen bough.
For I've grown a little leaner,
Grown a little colder,
Grown a little sadder,
Grown a little older,
And I need a little angel
Sitting on my shoulder,
Need a little Christmas now.
Haul out the holly;
Fill up the stocking,
But we need a little Christmas
Right this very minute,
Candles in the window,
Carols at the spinet.
Yes, we need a little Christmas
Right this very minute.
It hasn't snowed a single flurry,
But Santa, dear, we're in a hurry;
So climb down the chimney;
Put up the brightest string of lights I've ever seen.
Slice up the fruitcake;
It's time we hung some tinsel on that evergreen bough.
For we need a little music,
Need a little laughter,
Need a little singing
Ringing through the rafter,
And we need a little snappy
"Happy ever after,"
Need a little Christmas now.
Need a little Christmas now.

Oh crud - Christmas isn't about ME?! Recognized a tendency to use capital I far too much lately - decorations schmeckorations . Christmas isn't holly(or fruitcake thank goodness) is it? -
“God showed how much he loved us by sending his only son into the world so that we might have eternal life through him. This is real love. It is not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as a sacrifice to take away our sins.” (John 4:9-10 NLT)

It is very good on Buhlaland - once we get our I's straighted out - bless y'all

Ahh but it is. He came for you, well me too, but isn't that really the whole point, He came for us lowly humans whom He regards so highly (for some crazy reason that only God knows really). He came for our salvation, to give us life eternal, abundant life. Wow! what a reason to celebrate and haul out the holly (or something else that makes our hearts sing and remember who gave us this abundant life!) I needed this pep talk as much as the next person.

Sometimes my favorite decorations are the ones that look like someone is in the middle of decorating! (It is why I wish I had more picturesque boxes than plastic storage tubs, but then the attic mice have the same wish)

I need to revamp my wordpress but everytime I go to see about a new template they suggest that I back up my site, well that is an act far beyond my current pay grade, so no upgrade for me. I'm looking forward to some down time, maybe a whole whoppin' week between shifting stuff round in the Hippy Hot Hut and getting things propagatin'. To sit and learn about this web site stuff. Have a great day my friend and that wreath should go... right... there!

PS Your header picture is lovely. but I was wondering, what would you call the main color of the sky right there? Saw it the other evening myself here and was wondering what color name would be appropriate, champagne seems a funny color to call a sky but that was the closest I got.

Lanny Girl - I'd call it champagne - if there can be (bad) movies called Vanilla Sky and Lucy can be in the Sky with Diamonds and Detroit funk can be about Purple Rain - any color word description of sky should be allowable - I'm positive God has a whole encyclopedia of just colors awaiting us in eternity! My favorite decorations are ones where I come home from work and find my house magically transformed - yeah like that's going to happen - oh well - I keep working on it all. I am, after all, a work in progress.

Hey Linda Sue - I'm no fan of change either. I don't even know where we're going to have Christmas this year, much less where to put up my tree! Maybe I won't have one at all!

Back and forth between the farm & the house renovations and I'm gettin' dizzy with all this running around.

Thank the Lord for the real reason for Christmas. I'm still filled with awe and inspired the holiness of His birth. I would have loved to go and worship at the manger.

Only do what you feel like doing - it's about the "reason", not the season! Hope this finds everyone doing well in Buhlaland!

This is a fun post ( maybe not to you?) because I see you are most likely a lot of fun no matter what is gong on there in Buhl-a-land.

I also went thru some of the same frustrations trying out the new blogger, but was able to recapture my old blog which I am very happy with..Blogger , keep your hands off my blog!( but thank-you very much for the blogging experience you provide for free!)I am also willing to admit Blogger keeps teaching this old dog new tricks, and thankful for that too.

Good thing about Christmas decorating is that it lasts only as long past Christmas as we can stand, so if you're not happy with it then it goes..quickly!

Like you and Skip, Jim and I know the real reason we celebrate...Praise Him~

I like the new look, Linda Sue- but I know what you mean about the frustration of changing things... that's why I try not to mess my blog's design very often! haha
I love the song- very catchy tune!

Champagne it is then! (even though it is a spelling challenge for me!)

The sun is shining today and we're expecting a pineapple express, so out I go to weed AND collect more greens for the house! Don't know if you watch, (sometimes I'm sorry we do) but they used your song on Glee the other night. Even more reason for me to have it playing in my head this week!
