It's a mad plaid world isn't it?

Dear friends and others who read my foolishness - picture is quite irrelevant to what I am writing today . Picture taken last holiday season - me holding a large gift bow on top of my head and attempting to get a picture of my big plaid self. The expression - ah - a thing of beauty is a joy forever - or some such poetic nonsense. I take self portraits in front of our hall tree/mirror in entry way - limits the options but can see myself.
All this aside - I am only a few posts short of putting up my 400th (oh my goodness) blogpost and rather than think of something clever or meaningful (and to prove I'm mentally lazy) I have decided to open the door to potential hazardous topics.
Y'all can ask anything you want - do I wear boxers or briefs? Where did I get my education? Am I a pre/mid or post tribulationist? You send in the question and I'll attempt to answer. Now - I will refuse a question which I cannot answer honestly/truthfully without hurting someone else - fair enough?
No prizes - no guess my weight or anything risky - just questions and answers. I realize I am not Ree Drummond but hope this will be fun for y'all. Oh - yes food questions are great too. Things like how I cook an elephant (very seldom) or my favorite meal ever - or something simple like why does a jelly sandwich always land jelly side down?
Life is great on Buhlaland - incredible autumn weather, within a reasonable time of finishing THE GREAT RENOVATION PROJECT (cue the sound of celestial choirs) and overall knowing we are blessed beyond belief. Our infirmities never block the view of eternity.
Sharing with you an absolute Truth with a capital T -
"My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness."
2 Corinthians 12:9

Well, I was going to request a picture of you and hubby, but then I noticed a couple posts down that you had already posted one! That plaid picture is WILD!

Hmm, what to ask? Are you as nice and encouraging in real life as you are online? What is one thing you never learned to do that you wish you did? What is your favorite way to cook beans?

So funny! My answers would be the same as yours!!!!! That's what I love about blogging!

Pam, Pam Pam - I had to ask hubby about whether I'm nice and encouraging - I can be a real pill at times! But he said yes I am nice and encouraging - I try to say "where are you going now dear?" instead of "idiot - you missed the turnoff!" - was an example - ROFL - what a relationship huh?
Never really learned to dance and OH I wish I could - DH used to dance and I am just too klutzy and self conscious about it.
Cooking beans - I think I did a post - will have to look back there but it is pinto beans - will put up a link to the post.

Mildred - maybe we are sisters of a different mother? I think it is funny we are so alike because I always think of you as so much more ladylike and refined - I can be a real hick about some things.

aargh - can't find my beans recipes online - will have to make a blog post about it - without actually cooking them because I can't afford the carbs this week! LOL - fun questions.

LindaSue, I want to know about your years of owning a bed & breakfast. That intrigues me. How many years? When, where? So many questions, but this is the one I keep wondering about since you mentioned it a year or so ago in a casual comment.

400 posts! Wow....congratulations.

I almost forgot in my excitement over asking you questions, love the plaid robe. I have one very much like that..but afraid the bow is not in my closet of accessories!Plaid is so cozy and stylish for we ladies of a certain age... ( and Scotsmen's kilts)

Kathy - will dig up some old pictures of B&B days and do a full blog post about the B&B days- that is a promise. It was to borrow from Charles Dickens "It was the best of times, it was the worst of times; it was the age of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness"

Amen Missy! And personally I'm glad you are not Ree Drummond. Purple. Gotta love purple. I've always appreciated it but ever since I went with my daughter to her midwife appointment three years ago and the woman had aubergine and persimmon in her birth room and then I stole it last year for my room, I have a whole new appreciation for the color that outstrips most. Well except when I'm asked to wear it, as in baby daughter's wedding, on me not so much, on everything around me, oh yeah! Man I love a deep rich purp and a burnished intense orange, yum! It goes with the whole autumn favorite thing - mee too! Or I should say, mee three!

I want to know everything but not sure how to frame that in a question. I would just like to know if you and I can blog more frequently this winter?! I'm hoping I will be less busy and I'm hoping that when I'm on here I find some new posts from you too, telling me more and more about my good friend from Texas. Bet's new goat is beautiful but man alive does she need a friend! Savin' our money up for some Large Black Pigs! And one more goat.

Lanny Girl - that is about the nicest question ever! Yes I'd like to blog more - when things get tense around here I tend to shut up - nobody needs to hear my wailing - it is a lack of memory I have. God is always and forever faithful - I'm the idjit who forgets the source of all things good! So I'll agree to try much harder to blog more often - at least once a week how about that?
yes yes - wish I could ship you one of my beautiful little does - they are so pretty and most at least half nubian so will be good milkers.

Would love your pinto recipe when you get the chance!

Oh, and if you have a favorite turnip recipe...we bought 5 lbs. of them for $1 from a table in someone's yard. I don't recall ever even eating a turnip, but I'm game. Been looking up recipes online.

You've lost your mind! The weather must have turned hot again.
What do Scotsmen wear under their kilts?

I would like to know, Linda, if there were one place in the whole world that you'd like to go visit, where would that be? Would you go abroad or would you stay in the States?

I'm with you on the Mexican food/steak - it's a toss-up! Hope things are going well in your neck of the woods!
