We don't believe in luck, we do believe in God's provision, hard work and the occasional dietary indulgence involving butter, chocolate with some Blue Bell ice cream. We aren't experiencing "bad luck" - a series of unfortunate circumstances perhaps? DH is doing OK - now being treated for a form of asthma ( not a diagnosis of asthma just all the medications for asthma - no it doesn't make much sense to me either). I'm recovering slowly from the fall I had several weeks ago on the dreadmill (also known to the wider public as a treadmill). Zoe Dog is on her last round of restricted activity following treatment for heartworm infestation and oh yeah - our house got hit by lightning last week.
You just have to laugh - and laugh a little more. The lightning was a tad terrifying - very loud noise, bright lights and bad smell of things burning. DH and I checked the house from attic to garage and found lots of melted wires, many non functioning electronic things and our two absolutely terrified little dogs! Now busy doing the insurance claim things. We will see when we get a settlement what will be possible to replace. Right now I'm on our Fred Flintstone level laptop computer - mine is fried. So no pictures for now - but it is good on Buhlaland when the sun shines and even when the storms come - because no storm lasts forever.

Storms or healing rain?
We were facing a day which had a strong potential for difficult life altering storms - or a gentle healing rain. Whichever was brought to us -we knew storm clouds don't last forever but the Father's love is steadfast and eternal.
Jesus brought a little rainfall to Buhlaland this morning and it felt wonderful. The doctor appointment wasn't the devastating news we had been prepared to hear -our Abba Father once again provided solutions beyond what our limited understanding could predict.
Tonight - it is very good on Buhlaland. We might even get some more precipitation and the spiritual rain storms - they turned out to be showers of blessings!

Stormy evening

We didn't get any real damage - wanted to share our intense storm with those of you who like lots of thundery, windy weather wildness. The hailstones are shown in my hand (to give a perspective of size). The downpour from our downspout shows the side garden being well rinsed out.

The storm let up a little but still plenty of rain coming down.
Our driveway looked a little like a waterpark for a half hour or so. After a little while, as always true to His Word, rainbows began to appear in the sky and soon from the west evening light brightened up our sunset.

Storms coming
Wednesday we spent several hours with friends who are also clients. In front of their new house they built a lake. I wanted to give you this information as an example of why you gotta love Texans and our sense of what constitutes landscaping. We were out by the lake and could clearly see on the horizon a big storm front moving in.
The scene was beautiful and majestic but we were getting weather alerts of potentially damaging hail, lightning and a tornado watch. Later while going through my pictures I realized we don't always see the storms headed our way so clearly. My friend Sarah is an example of staying safe in the shelter of the Lord even when the storms are raging.
I'm not sure if I've posted one of my favorite C.S.Lewis lines before or not - if so - please forgive me for being repetitious. In thinking of the storms of life --
“We are not necessarily doubting that God will do the best for us; we are wondering how painful the best will turn out to be.” Amen -
The weather storm finally arrived and was not nearly so bad as predicted. Another truth in life is often we anticipate greater problems than we are given. It stormed violently near us -but not on Buhlaland - not last night.

Stormy weather
Early yesterday morning these rain heavy clouds were coming in from the southwest. I took a picture of the windmill and pasture located next to our back pasture and thought of one of my favorite songs "How Great Thou Art" written by Carl Boberg and R.J. Hughes . The lyrics:"O Lord my God, When I in awesome wonder, consider all the worlds Thy Hand have made; I see the stars, I hear the rolling thunder, Thy power throughout the universe displayed."
We are still having waves of storms through here today. After 2 years of severe drought - this year's rainfall is such a blessing for the land. The thunder does roll, echoing off the buildings. The trees are stretching up to the sky and sinking their roots so deep to drink in the water.
Nothing of great import to share with any possible readers today-feeling quiet and blessed and would love for you to feel the same. Shalom.
