We're ground planters and have two gardens this year. We've had so little rain and I'm having to water my onions and garlic. Chance of rain today. Keep us posted on your garden. It will be interesting to see how well it produces.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4607260760839481724.post-30533165379884006982011-04-18T18:33:05.789-05:002011-04-18T18:33:05.789-05:00Great idea using the water tanks...I wouldn't ...Great idea using the water tanks...I wouldn't have thought of that.we hope to have raised beds one of these years..we keep plugging along with the ground for now...have most of the garden in....Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4607260760839481724.post-43387172452480159742011-04-17T14:24:23.259-05:002011-04-17T14:24:23.259-05:00It all sounds wonderful! Your weather is much more conducive to growing abundantly than ours, longer days or warm sunshine and your container gardens should be easier to keep watered. You are so right about grocery prices. Given that, many of us should be willing to re-think and use our yard spaces to grow our own produce.

Looks to be an exciting spring and summer for Buhl-a-land!KathyB.https://www.blogger.com/profile/13076933273610590290noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4607260760839481724.post-81024192529009857282011-04-16T18:21:10.300-05:002011-04-16T18:21:10.300-05:00I was wondering what the black containers are, too...I was wondering what the black containers are, too!!! Everything of mine is in containers. First of all, we only have sand here, and no matter what I put in the earth, in a year, it's still sand. Second, I raises things to where I don't have to bend so far. And third, I hate weeding. I did run into problems with the grass and weeds around my pots, so I put down that black stuff you see at nurserys. Perfect. I'm already picking beans, ate my greens and beets and spinach, and cucumbers are flowering. Can't wait to see how yours does. Those are the greatest of all containers!!!!Cora from Hidden Richeshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11066244776488896258noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4607260760839481724.post-70578866554378729342011-04-16T15:02:45.999-05:002011-04-16T15:02:45.999-05:00Best wishes; it all sounds/looks great. What are they, where are they, and how much are they? The bane of a happy existence, though I do get cheap thrills slicing them in half with my scissors. The ducks are taking adequate care of them at the moment but Daffy and his gang walk all over things, some can handle it some, like asparagus, can not. But in June when the strawberries are on I will have to either talk myself into liking green berries or lock up the ducks, but then I'll have to talk myself into liking half eaten berries. Argh, slugs!Lannyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16018584509455303394noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4607260760839481724.post-73006581882313981022011-04-14T14:02:32.445-05:002011-04-14T14:02:32.445-05:00Good luck with your garden, Linda Sue!
